Shaved 2 days ago and stubbly skin again

Honestly, how many minutes a week do you spend shaving? And how often have you had annoying razor bumps or inflammation around the shaved areas?
Our bitter experience: Regardless of whether you shave or epilate – stubbly skin and razor bumps occur again and again. And they are a very annoying Be it on the face, on the legs or in the intimate zone. But smooth skin without razor bumps is possible.

The agony of choice in laser hair removal

Internet sites are overflowing with information on how best to get rid of your body hair. Screaming offers of laser treatments are a dime a dozen. All of them promise you the same thing: to remove your hair forever without pain in a flash. But is that even possible? The truth hurts, but we’ll be honest: no one can achieve 100% hair removal! The good news is that with a medical laser and the right settings for your skin type, you can reduce your hair by up to 95%. Attention: Medical knowledge about the skin and the laser are basic requirements! It’s important that you thoroughly research laser hair removal and choose a reputable provider to discuss potential benefits and risks with a qualified expert. You can find out more on this page and in the FAQ section at the end.

“The best time to start laser hair removal is NOW. Because to never have to shave again, several treatments are necessary. With the right laser setting for your skin, you can do it in a matter of months!” – Dr. Peter Herndlhofer

Laser hair removal: before and after pictures

The first results after laser hair removal are already visible after the first or second treatment – depending on the area of the body. For example, you will see hair reduction faster under the armpits and in the genital area than in other regions. On average, depending on the region of the body, between 4 – 8 treatments are necessary at intervals of about 1 month. And the good news is that you will need to shave much less after a short time, as your hair will grow back thinner and weaker after each treatment.

What do you need to consider?

Before treatment:

  • Shave the hair in the affected area 1 day before laser hair removal (NO waxing or similar).

  • No waxing or hair plucking 1 month before the treatment.

  • No sunbathing or tanning 1 week before.

After treatment:

  • Avoid strong sunlight (incl. solarium) for 1-2 weeks. If you do have to spend time in the sun, be sure to apply sunscreen with a sufficiently high SPF – we recommend SPF 50.

Questions? Our FAQ section is not a substitute for a consultation, but offers you some initial guidance.

This depends on the treatment area. We can laser sun-protected body zones such as under the armpits or the bikini line without hesitation. However, large areas of skin exposed to the sun should only be lasered when the sun shines less strongly outside. This is because the risk of hyperpigmentation (skin discoloration) increases due to direct UV radiation. We will be happy to advise you on the best time.

That depends on when you last soaked up the sun! If this was more than 1 week ago, we only need to adjust the laser settings to your tan.

Even after the first treatment, your hair may fall out after 7-10 days. For the duration of your hair cycle, which varies depending on the body region, you will thus have a largely hair-free result. However, after 1 – 3 months you will see regrown hair. The good thing is that after each laser cycle your hair will become thinner and less. For optimum results, we recommend 6 treatments followed by laser epilation approx. once a year.

No, permanent 100% hair removal is not possible from the current state of knowledge in 2022. Anyone who promises otherwise today is fibbing to you. Wir können deine Haaranzahl zwischen 80 – 95% reduzieren. And the good news is that the remaining hair will be much finer and therefore less noticeable. Countless women are already happy with the results of laser epilation – see for yourself!

No! Take, for example, the armpits and bikini area. Here, the laser reduces your hair count by 90 – 95%. On the back it looks different – there we achieve a hair reduction of “only” 80%. The reason: Your hair differs depending on the area of your body and grows at different speeds.

More questions? Here you will find the answers.

Lasers for home use are usually low-power IPL devices (IPL = intense pulsed light) and never diode lasers. Physicians found that they provide poorer long-term results than more powerful diode, alexandrite, or Nd:YAG lasers. Small IPL devices for home use also never work with the same strength as those used by doctors, which require regular maintenance to guarantee safe use.

We cannot laser light blonde or white hair as it contains too little or no melanin. This prevents the hair from absorbing the light from the laser. It does not matter which laser is used.

Let’s assume: You have had your hair lasered elsewhere but are not 100% satisfied with the result and now want to try a different device – this is possible. The only question is why you are not satisfied with the result. For example: blonde hair is difficult to remove with all lasers. We will be happy to advise you and clear up any uncertainties.

Moles or birthmarks should not be exposed to laser beams, as this increases the risk of certain skin diseases. The good thing is that all moles or liver spots are adequately covered with a pen before treatment.

The gold standard in medicine is a procedure that is currently the best and most proven solution. This means that according to the current state of science, the laser is the most effective method of hair removal. All future methods will be measured against this gold standard.
