Hylase treatment at GoAesthetic in Vienna:
A promising method for correcting wrinkle injections

Do you have unsightly lips or puffiness under the eyes after a hyaluronic acid injection? A Hylase treatment may be the solution. Hylase contains the body’s own enzyme hyaluronidase, which is ideal for correcting poor results after wrinkle injections. Hylase is also the drug of choice in the event of undesirable side effects, allowing doctors to take quick countermeasures.

Please note: Not all hyaluronic acid fillers dissolve equally well. Some require more treatments. Strong lip fillers, for example, usually require several Hylase treatments.

What is a Hylase treatment?

The hylase treatment is a medical treatment for the targeted dissolution of hyaluronic acid fillers. The enzyme hyaluronidase is used to break down the cross-linked hyaluronic acid molecules and thus enable the filler to break down.
This treatment is used when undesirable results such as uneven volume distribution, asymmetries or excessive padding occur after a filler injection.

The targeted application of hylase can restore or adjust the desired aesthetic result.

Important: However, the enzyme cannot differentiate between endogenous and exogenous hyaluronic acid, which is why sufficient specialist knowledge and a deep understanding of facial anatomy is required for the treatment to be successful.

“The great advantage of hyaluronic acid injections is that, thanks to hylase, we can dissolve everything again and treat unwanted side effects quickly and effectively.”Dr. Peter Herndlhofer

How does the Hylase treatment at GoAesthetic in Vienna work?

Hylase treatment is carried out in several steps, which are tailored to the individual needs of each person. If necessary, an allergy test is carried out first to rule out any intolerance to Hylase. The exact position of the hyaluronic acid filler is then marked and dissolved.

During the subsequent injection of the Hylase, we ensure that only the desired amount of filler is removed in order to achieve a harmonious and natural result. Experience is the key to treatment. During the follow-up appointment about a week later, additional hylase can be injected if necessary, if old filler is still present and negatively affects the aesthetic result.

When are results visible?

The first results are visible within a day, as the hyaluronic acid usually dissolves within a few hours. However, you should wait several days, as slight swelling may be visible for a short time after the injection. We always assess the affected area 7 days after dissolution and inject a little more Hylase if necessary.

Your advantages with a Hylase treatment at GoAesthetic

Safe

If necessary, an allergy tolerance test is carried out before treatment to guarantee safe treatment.

Effective

Swelling, lumps or unsightly results after a hyaluronic acid injection can be resolved within a very short time using Hylase.

Hylase must be stored in a special medicine refrigerator to avoid temperature fluctuations in order to maintain its effect.

What is the procedure for a Hylase treatment at GoAesthetic?

  • Appointment

Make an appointment for a consultation or a Hylase treatment online. A medical consultation costs €140 if you can’t decide on the treatment straight away. The good news is that we will credit €50 of this to any future treatment.

  • Allergy test

As hylase triggers allergic reactions in rare cases, we carry out a prick allergy test. This involves applying small amounts of Hylase to the forearm. You then have to wait around 20 minutes.

  • Treatment

If the allergy test was inconclusive, we can carry out the treatment by injecting small amounts of Hylase into the areas to be treated.

  • Control

After 1 week, we check the success of the treatment and correct it with Hylase free of charge if necessary. However, larger areas for dissolving hyaluronic acid sometimes require further appointments, which are subject to a charge (e.g. multiple lip injections with hyaluronic acid).
