HIFU is a special type of ultrasound: high-intensity and focused. “High-intensity” because it has more energy than “normal” ultrasound. And “focused” means that the device bundles the ultrasound waves, creating an effect similar to that of a burning glass.
The result? The focused ultrasound energy causes a short, precise heat impulse deep in the connective tissue. Old, sagging collagen fibers contract and shrink in response – an initial immediate effect.
But that’s not all: over the next few months, your body responds to the controlled injury with an intensive repair program. Damaged collagen fibers are broken down and replaced with fresh material. We take plenty of time for our customers. So if you are unsure which treatment best suits your wishes, you should arrange a medical consultation beforehand. We will discuss all the pros and cons and develop a treatment plan if necessary. We charge a consultation fee of €140 for the 30-minute medical consultation. But the good news is that we will credit €50 back to you for every future treatment.
HIFU treatment achieves the best results in people in their 30s and over who are struggling with slightly to moderately sagging skin. Realistic expectations are important: You won’t suddenly look 10 years younger.
The prices for HIFU treatment in our practice in Vienna depend on the size of the area to be treated.
Transparency is extremely important to us, which is why we also list all prices online on our homepage under Ultherapy®. However, we will also advise you in detail in an initial consultation. In general, you should expect costs to start at 390 euros, depending on the facial region.
HIFU works with pulses of heat – and this can be noticeable for a short time. However, in most cases, treatment is possible without anesthetic cream or painkillers.
You may notice the first slight tightening effect just a few days after the treatment. However, it takes several months to build up new collagen, so the final result will only be visible after 2 – 4 months.
We recommend that you take a break for at least a few days after the HIFU facelift before we start a wrinkle treatment with Botox. This allows any after-effects to subside before you lie down on the treatment table again.
