Important info about the treatment with microneedling

We take sufficient time for our initial consultation. If you want to have a treatment with us, the consultation is free of charge. However, if you can’t decide right away, we charge a consultation fee of €75. But the good news is that we will credit the amount back to you for future treatment.

What do you have to consider when microneedling?

Before treatment:

  • No active inflammation in the treated area (e.g.: fever blisters). If you are prone to fever blisters, we recommend medication prophylaxis two days before the peeling.

After treatment:

  • No sports on the day of treatment.

  • No injections in the treated area for a few days.

  • No scratching or pressing of the treated skin.

  • No massages or cosmetic treatments on the face for 2 days.

  • For 5 days, be sure to apply sunscreen with SPF 30 outdoors.

  • No steam bath and sauna visits for 1 week.

Microneedling can be useful for all people when it comes to improving certain skin problems. Examples are:

Note, however, microneedling should only be performed by an experienced beauty specialist to ensure it is safe and effective.

Counter question: What skin problems do you want to improve? No matter what the answer, all treatment protocols have one thing in common. Several treatments are usually necessary to achieve the desired effect. For those who wish to get all skin problems under control after 1 treatment, microneedling is not suitable. Rapid anti-aging effects can only be achieved by surgery or injections with hyaluronic acid.

We will be happy to advise you on site and clarify whether microneedling is suitable for you.

On average, you will need 3-8 microneedlings with a break of 4-6 weeks between treatments. Depending on the desired treatment. For example, for the reduction of scars and stretch marks we recommend rather more, about 5-8 treatments. Scar therapy in particular requires a longer and more extensive treatment design.

Depending on the number of microneedlings performed, the effect can last from a few months to years. In the case of scar smoothing, the effect is even permanent.

Lasers for skin rejuvenation work with a so-called ablative procedure. This means that they damage the skin surface and thus lead to micro-scarring. These scars, usually invisible to your eye, lead to the formation of new collagen type III fibers. In contrast, with microneedling you form above-average collagen type I fibers. This collagen is preferable to the other because type III is found in scar tissue and vessels. By the way, type I collagen is also the most abundant in the body at 90%.

It depends on what you want to treat – acne scars or skin rejuvenation? Stretch marks or wrinkles? Depending on the treatment, we need to change the depth of the needles. But: Traditional techniques with skin rollers are often more painful than the DermaPen – despite the same penetration depth. Since the fine needles of the skin roller penetrate much more slowly than those of the DermaPen. There is now the 4th generation of the pen, which we use in many aesthetic applications without anesthetic cream.

No, because microneedling activates the natural self-renewal mechanism of your skin. For this purpose, the needle length must be selected correctly. Because: If the stitches are too superficial, your wound healing cascade will not start.

Yes, of course – after each treatment the needles are changed. Otherwise, it would be very questionable hygienically.

No. Whether scooter or pen. Microneedling devices for home use often have shorter needles and thus cannot penetrate the skin as far. Lower penetration depth, means poorer effect. Likewise, the accuracy of the execution is important for the success of the treatment.

During the treatment, highly concentrated active ingredients such as hyaluron or vitamins are placed under your skin. The whole thing is done with fine needle stitches.
